WHAT MAKES YBK DIFFRENT FROM OTHER DATING APPS?

When you date through YBK, you are given the opportunity to build romantic relationships with people who have had similar experiences that you can connect over, and who feel familiar to you because you either recognize them, have met them before, and/or have connections in common with. We believe that when singles feel a sense of familiarity with someone they meet online, they feel a little less uncomfortable sending that initial message, and also have the possibility of having more comfortable conversations and more natural connections.
HOW WAS YBK STARTED?
YBK (short for Yearbook) was conceived in 2022 after one of our co-founders ventured back onto the usual dating apps following a break up. After countless swipes, dm’s that faded off, and uneventful first dates, he came across a familiar face…a woman he recognized from high school. They connected and began dating. That’s when he realized that online dating feels much more comfortable when you have some type of pre-existing connection with someone. He called his high school best friend and now co-founder, Jeff, and YBK was born!
Whether it’s someone you have met in the past, someone you have friends in common with, or someone who has simply walked the same halls as you, matching becomes easier when the stranger you are matching with doesn’t feel so much like a stranger.
